Haslington Methodist Church is a friendly community meeting for worship on Sunday morning, and Sunday evening.
The morning services are in a contemporary style, and can vary from informal to semi-chaotic (but always worshipful). The services are normally led by a lay preacher, or the minister, together with one of our “worship leaders”. The worship leaders, because they are local to Haslington, are able to give an element of continuity to the services.
We are also very family oriented - it is not unusual for little ones to be walking around at the front of the church - for example when Sam goes to “help” his daddy John (one of our worship leaders & musicians - multi talented that John - sadly now left for pastures new) in leading the service, or playing the guitar! There is a creche provided for the very young. For pre-teens, and young teens there is KFC (Kids for Christ) - a fun packed learning environment, taking place during the second half of (non family) services.
Music is led by an enthusiastic and talented music group with many types of instruments in use.
If you prefer a more traditional service, then this is provided in the evening service, and, on the first Sunday of each month in an early communion service at 9:15.
The pictures below were taken at a service led by Kids for Christ during Christmas 2002
