Prayer for Haslington

Good and gracious God, give us eyes that are open to see, ears that are willing to hear, and hearts ready to love as we pray for the communities we live in and the people, both young and old, in our area.

We pray for the children in our schools and play groups, and for the adults who care for them. We pray that they have a love of learning, and a joy in knowing each other and understanding your world.

Lord Jesus we pray a blessing upon the areas in our communities where young people gather,

we pray that we can look at them through your eyes and have an understanding of their needs.

Lord we thank you for the older generation who live in our village. We thank you for their wisdom and wealth of experience.

We pray for compassion, gentleness, respect and understanding for those living in Primrose and we pray that your spirit will sustain them and those who care for them.

Lord we pray for those who look after the sick. The doctors and nurses in the surgery on the main road.

Image

We ask you to strengthen their skills and knowledge, and give them a greater compassion so that they can bring your healing to those who are sick in mind and body.
We pray for the work of the Red Cross all over the world, but especially we think of the center that is based here in our village. We thank you for their dedication in teaching others how to administer first aid.

Here in Haslington, we have so many places of work,

many shops, dentist, chemist. The support workers who come into the village - postmen and women, telephone workers, gas, electric and water technicians, refuse collectors and many others. We ask your blessing on all these people.

We thank  you for the leisure activities which are in this area. We ask for your blessing on those who work in our public houses, the Cosy Club, the cricket club and bowling club and the many activities which take place in the Yoxall hall. We thank you that we have open spaces to play on like the village green, the Gutterscroft play ground, and we lift to you all those who maintain these areas for us.
